Moving Quote & Booking Process

All moving quotes are based on the information you provide to us. The final quote may be adjusted if:

- Access to loading or unloading locations differs from the information provided
- Additional services are required on the day of the move
- Special handling requirements are identified
We strive to provide the most accurate quotes possible and will communicate any potential changes as soon as they’re identified.
Moving Appointment Confirmation
A moving appointment is confirmed only after receipt of the required deposit and written confirmation from our team. We recommend booking your move as early as possible, especially during peak moving seasons (May-September).
Payment Terms for Professional Moving Services
Moving Service Rate Structure
Our professional moving service rates are based on several factors:
- The distance of the move
- The volume or weight of items to be moved
- Additional services requested (packing, storage, etc.)
- The time of year (high season or low season)
- The accessibility of departure and arrival locations
- Special handling requirements
Deposit Requirements
A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your moving appointment. The deposit amount will be specified in your moving quote and is typically 10% of the estimated total for a long distance move and 1 hours before taxes for local moves.
Accepted Payment Methods
We accept payments for moving services by:
- Credit card (Visa, MasterCard)
- Bank transfer
- Cash
Final Balance Payment
The final balance for your move must be paid on the day of the move or before delivery of your belongings. For long-distance moves, payment must be received before unloading begins at the destination.
Cancellation Policies for Moving Appointments
Moving Appointment Cancellation Policy
Our cancellation policy for moving services is as follows:
- Cancellation more than 14 days before the moving date: 100% of the deposit refunded
- Cancellation between 7 and 14 days before the moving date: 50% of the deposit refunded
- Cancellation less than 7 days before the moving date: non-refundable deposit
Moving Insurance & Cargo Protection
Professional Moving Company Responsibility
As your Montreal moving company, we commit to taking exceptional care of your belongings while they are in our custody. Our professional movers are trained to handle items with care and attention to detail. Our liability is limited according to the terms of our insurance coverage.
Client Responsibility During Moves
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information for the moving quote
- Ensuring that all items are properly prepared for the move
- Obtaining necessary permits for truck parking if required
- Being present or designating a representative during loading and unloading
- Customer is responsible of the content of the box he pack by himself.
Comprehensive Cargo Protection
Basic cargo protection is included in all our moving services. This coverage provides limited protection based on weight. Additional comprehensive cargo protection options are available for an extra fee, providing replacement value coverage for your belongings.
Valuable Items Protection
We recommend that you personally transport high-value items, important documents, and sentimental objects. Items of exceptional value should be declared in advance and may require additional insurance coverage.
Items Not Transported by Professional Movers
For safety and regulatory reasons, we do not transport:
- Hazardous materials (flammable, explosive, corrosive products)
- Weapons and ammunition without appropriate permits
- Live plants for long-distance moves
- Perishable goods
- Fluids in open containers
- Animals
- Firearm (Local) – Option available for long distance move

Claims Process for Moving Services
Damage Claim Deadline
Any claim for damage or loss during your move must be submitted in writing within 7 days of delivery. This timeframe ensures proper investigation and resolution of your claim.
Moving Damage Claim Procedure
Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Quebec. Any dispute relating to our moving services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec in the jurisdiction of Laval, QC.
Force Majeure
ProAction Transport will not be held responsible for delays or non-performance resulting from circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to: extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, strikes, riots, terrorist acts, government restrictions, or pandemics.
Modifications to Moving Terms
We reserve the right to modify these moving terms and conditions at any time. Modifications will take effect upon their publication on our website.
